Anti–Recoverin Antibodies
Test details
Patients with antibodies directed against recoverin (a 23 kDa calcium-binding protein) present with visual disturbances that can rapidly progress to blindness. Seropositivity is consistent with cancer-associated retinopathy (CAR). These patients should be evaluated for an underlying small-cell lung carcinoma (SCLC), non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and neuroendocrine carcinoma.
